The Hakone Ekiden (relay race) is a Japanese traditional event held every New Year's Day. During this event, the Nike+ Challenge its called "Yama Wo Koe" is held, in which Nike+ users are divided into east and west to compete for the distance covered. The symbol of the Ekiden race is the sash and the shoelaces of Nike's sneakers. These two laces are connected, and the image depicts them moving toward the goal.
